About
A timer for the long exhale.
Dopodoro started as a personal answer to a personal problem: most focus apps feel like a productivity gym. Bright colors, streaks, badges, leaderboards — the kind of pressure that turns deep work into another race to fail at.
I wanted something quieter. A timer that started a Pomodoro, finished it, and got out of the way. Something that felt as good to come back to as a favorite mug.
So I built it. Dopodoro is a focus timer for iPhone, being built openly.
The name
"Pomodoro" is Italian for tomato — the technique was named after the tomato-shaped kitchen timer Francesco Cirillo used in the late '80s. "Dopo" means "after" in Italian. Dopodoro = the thing you do after the timer goes off: rest, breathe, come back to it.
